How We Standardise

What "standardised" means at CTA

A standardised extract is one assayed and adjusted to contain a defined percentage of an active marker compound — for example, 20% bacosides in a Bacopa extract or 95% curcuminoids in curcumin. Standardisation is what lets a formulator design a dose and make a label claim with confidence.

CTA standardises extracts using the method appropriate to each marker — HPLC, UV spectrophotometry, GC, gravimetry or titration — and confirms the result on every batch's Certificate of Analysis.

  • Marker assay — a defined active percentage, not just a plant ratio
  • Validated methods — HPLC, UV, GC, gravimetry, titration
  • Batch documentation — CoA, specification sheet and MSDS
